Healthy Paws Animal Hospital is a locally owned and operated, full service veterinary hospital for dogs and cats, offering affordable diagnosis, treatment and prevention of common pet ailments.
Originally established as Veterinary Services of Gladewater in 2008, the practice was purchased by Dr. Lane Arrendell in January 2020 and officially renamed Healthy Paws Animal Hospital in April 2021. In 2024, Dr. Tori Chambers proudly became a part owner, further strengthening our commitment to our patients and community.

Our Doctors
Dr. Lane Arrendell
Dr. Lane has been practicing in East Texas since 2010. She is a 2009 graduate from Texas A&M University and began her practice at Veterinary Services of Gladewater in May 2016. She purchased the practice in January 2020, renaming it Healthy Paws Animal Hospital in 2021. Dr. Lane enjoys practicing in a small community and enjoys the relationships she builds with her clients from Gladewater, White Oak and the surrounding communities. She has three sons, Rhett, Rowan, and Kullen. She and her husband, Clint, enjoy traveling, gardening and spending time with their children.

Dr. Tori Chambers
Dr. Tori Chambers began her career in veterinary medicine in 2014 and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 2021. She joined Healthy Paws Animal Hospital that same year and became a part owner in 2024. Dr. Chambers is passionate about preventive medicine, improving quality of life for pets, and performing soft tissue surgery. She loves Healthy Paws' team-focused culture and commitment to exceptional patient care and client service. Dr. Chambers enjoys spending time with her husband, Drew, and their three pets—Jethro, a black Labrador Retriever; Mia, a Rat Terrier mix; and Jack Jack, a tuxedo cat.

Associate VeterinarianDr. Ian Spencer
Dr. Ian Spencer began his career in veterinary medicine in 2012. After receiving his undergraduate degree from East Texas Baptist University, he continued his education at Texas A&M University. He graduated with his doctorate of veterinary medicine in 2021. Dr. Spencer loves helping people by helping their pets. He has been with Healthy Paws Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian since April 2022. Dr. Spencer and his wife, Shelby, are the proud parents to their sons John and Lee. They share their home with two cats, Dash and Violet, and a dog Stellaluna. Dr. Spencer enjoys spending time outdoors, running, and biking.
Our Staff
Madison joined Healthy Paws in July 2023 and earned her Veterinary Receptionist Certificate of Excellence (VRCE) in 2024. She loves meeting new faces, both human and animal, and finds it especially rewarding to see patients head home happy and healthy after receiving care. Madison is known for her friendly personality, positive attitude, and willingness to help wherever she's needed. She enjoys working with clients, supporting her teammates, and continuing to expand her knowledge of veterinary medicine.
Madison is mom to Serenity and Bryson. She and her fiancé, Michael, share their home with three cats, Luna, Lola, and Leo, a Miniature Dachshund named Estelle, and a Cocker Spaniel named Kimber. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, baking, singing, and organizing.
ReceptionistMadison Andrews, VRCE
Sam Blount, LVT
Sam graduated from Volunteer State Community College in 2020 and began her veterinary career that same year. She joined Healthy Paws in August 2024 as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. Sam loves helping pets feel their best and especially enjoys educating clients about their animals' health and medical care. She's known for her compassionate approach to patients and her ability to explain medical information in a way that helps owners feel comfortable and informed. Sam enjoys caring for hospitalized patients, assisting with procedures, and continuing to develop her veterinary skills. She especially appreciates the family atmosphere at Healthy Paws and the relationships our hospital has built within the community.
Sam and her husband, Cade, have two Chihuahuas, Penny and Lila. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, yoga, and traveling.
Veterinary Technician
Taylor Dugan, CVA I
Taylor began working in veterinary medicine in 2015 and joined Healthy Paws in November 2021. She earned an associate's degree in Animal Science from Tyler Junior College. Taylor is an experienced, well-rounded veterinary technician with skills in surgery, hospitalized patient care, laboratory diagnostics, and outpatient appointments. She especially enjoys advocating for her patients and seeing the happiness on an owner's face when their pet is feeling better. Taylor also enjoys educating clients and helping them understand their pets' medical needs.
Taylor and her husband, Mike, have two children, Edith and Owen. Their family includes three dogs: Beaudroux, Case, and Walker. In her free time, Taylor enjoys reading, movie nights, spending time outdoors, and being with her family.
Veterinary Technician
Kim began her veterinary career in December 2014 and earned her Veterinary Receptionist Certificate of Excellence (VRCE) in 2024. Over the years, she's become a familiar face to many of our clients and has built lasting relationships with the families and pets we care for. Kim loves the variety of animals she gets to meet and especially enjoys getting to know their owners. Her kindness, compassion, and ability to make people feel welcome are just a few of the things that make her such a valued member of our reception team.
Kim is married to her high school sweetheart, Thomas. They have two children, Chace and Riley, and three grandchildren, Kassidie, Tinley, and Brooklyn. She also has six dogs and two cats and loves spending her free time with her grandchildren.
ReceptionistKim Evans, VRCE
Carly Fountain, CVA I
Carly has worked in veterinary medicine since 2005 and joined Healthy Paws in March 2020. She earned her Level 1 Texas Veterinary Assistant Certification in 2020. With more than 20 years of experience, Carly brings extensive clinical knowledge and technical skills to our team, particularly in laboratory diagnostics and in-house testing. She enjoys educating pet owners, helping them better understand their pets' health, and working alongside her teammates to provide the best possible patient care. Carly is passionate about continuing her education and finding ways to improve the quality of life of the animals she cares for.
At home, Carly has a laid-back orange polydactyl tabby named Carl and a high-energy Boxer mix named Baxter.
Veterinary Technician
Heather Howe, CVA I
Heather began her veterinary career at Healthy Paws in August 2022 as a kennel technician. She earned her Level 1 Texas Veterinary Assistant Certification in April 2023 and began training as a veterinary technician later that year. Today, Heather is a skilled, experienced technician and a leader within our team. In addition to caring for patients and assisting with procedures, she helps train new employees and manages our controlled substance logbook. Heather loves helping sick and injured animals recover, keeping pets healthy, and learning something new every day. Her strong work ethic, compassion, and willingness to help make her a valuable part of our hospital.
Heather and her husband, Ethan, have five children: Harrison, Jace, Reagan, Kadin, and Kolton. They also have two dogs, Lena and Scooby.
Veterinary Technician
Danyele Ferguson
Veterinary Technician Dept LeadDanyele began working in veterinary medicine in 2016 and previously worked at Veterinary Services of Gladewater before returning to Healthy Paws in March 2022. She became our Veterinary Technician Department Lead in 2024. Danyele is passionate about advocating for her patients and making sure they receive the best possible care. As department lead, she helps coordinate our busy treatment team, supports her coworkers, and keeps things running smoothly throughout the hospital. Her clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and supportive leadership style make her someone our team can always count on.
Danyele and her husband, Chris, share their home with three dogs: Cassie, Sophie, and Bentlee. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family.
Kat Renfroe
Veterinary TechnicianKat began working in veterinary medicine in 2017 and joined Healthy Paws as a veterinary technician in May 2024. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is getting to know her patients and helping them feel better so they can return home happy and healthy. Kat enjoys working alongside a knowledgeable, supportive team that shares her passion for animals. Whether she's assisting with appointments, providing patient care, or helping her coworkers, Kat enjoys being part of the team effort that goes into providing quality veterinary care.
Kat and her husband, Jordan, share their home with two dogs, Klepto and Gypsy, and two cats, Spaz and Cleo.
Katie Robinson
Receptionist/Veterinary TechnicianKatie has been part of our hospital since 2014 and is Healthy Paws' longest-serving team member! She is fully cross-trained as both a receptionist and veterinary technician, making her one of the most versatile members of our team. Katie loves seeing patients recover and return home feeling better, and she especially values the relationships she's built with clients and coworkers over the years. Her experience, extensive knowledge, and willingness to help wherever she's needed make her an important part of our hospital.
Katie and her husband, Jamie, have four children, Danielle, Darian, Darcie, and Kaiya, and a grandson, Waylon. Their pets include Yoda the Yorkie, Tucker the Pomeranian, and Carl the cat. Katie loves spending her free time with her grandson!
Harlie Salter
Harlie began working in veterinary medicine in 2016 and joined Healthy Paws in October 2025 as a kennel technician. She loves providing compassionate care to animals and the people who love them, especially helping patients feel safe and comfortable during their time at the hospital. Harlie is known for her kind personality, strong work ethic, and genuine love for animals. She enjoys learning new skills and appreciates being part of a supportive, knowledgeable team.
Harlie and her husband, Dusty, have a Husky mix named Akasha and a cat named Ember. Outside of work, Harlie enjoys painting, making jewelry with locally harvested plants, and learning about native flora. She's also pursuing a bachelor's degree in Wildlife Management, with the goal of working alongside Texas Parks and Wildlife to help protect native plants and animals.
Kennel Technician
Amber Taylor, VRCE
Receptionist Dept LeadAmber has worked in veterinary medicine since 1997 and joined Healthy Paws in July 2019. She earned her Veterinary Receptionist Certificate of Excellence (VRCE) in 2024, the same year she became our Receptionist Department Lead. With experience in nearly every area of a veterinary hospital, Amber brings a wealth of knowledge to our front desk. She enjoys building relationships with clients, helping them care for their pets, and supporting her team. Known for her organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills, Amber helps keep our busy reception department running smoothly.
Amber and her husband, Chad, have two sons, Jacob and Colby, and three dogs: Bane, Hank, and Rip.
Amber graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science and holds her Level I Veterinary Assistant certification. She has worked in veterinary medicine since 2010 and joined Healthy Paws in January 2020. As Practice Manager, Amber oversees hospital operations and is passionate about building a positive, team-driven culture. Known for her supportive leadership, problem-solving skills, and willingness to jump in wherever needed, she loves helping her team grow and succeed.
Amber and her husband, Justin, share their home with three cats: Tele, Cheeseburger, and Potato. They also perform with the local band, Low Company.
